The Overseas Employment Corporation (OEC), under the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, is set to deploy Assistant English Language Teachers to Japan. This initiative is part of a broader effort to address the growing demand for English teachers in Japanese public schools. The selected candidates will receive a competitive salary package of ¥220,000 per month, along with free transportation and housing options.

Eligibility & Application Requirements

To qualify for this opportunity, applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, have at least one year of teaching experience, and be between 24 and 45 years old. We encourage both male and female candidates to apply. The contract will run from April 7, 2025, to March 24, 2026, providing a unique chance for Pakistani educators to gain international experience and contribute to the global education community.

Applicants must also meet specific requirements, including a clean criminal record, a recent medical certificate, and proof of financial stability. Those opting for private residence must have at least 600,000 yen after covering flight expenses, while shared accommodation applicants need a minimum of 300,000 yen. These measures prepare candidates well for their stay in Japan, allowing them to focus on their teaching responsibilities.

We will give preference to candidates with basic Japanese language skills and relevant teaching certifications such as TESOL, TOEFL, or CELTA. These qualifications will not only enhance the teaching experience but also facilitate better communication and integration into the Japanese educational system.

Interested candidates can apply through the OEC’s website https://oec.gov.pk/. by August 5, 2024. This initiative represents a significant step in strengthening educational ties between Pakistan and Japan, offering Pakistani teachers a valuable opportunity to expand their horizons and contribute to the development of English language education in Japan. The program underscores the importance of cross-cultural exchange and the role of education in fostering international cooperation.
