Haval Second-Gen Big Dog Hi4: Haval, the renowned Chinese automaker, has recently introduced its second-generation Big Dog Hi4 SUV, marking a significant milestone in the luxury SUV segment. With a price tag of 179,800 yuan (equivalent to 7 Crore PKR), this vehicle is set to redefine opulence and performance in the automotive industry.
The second-gen Big Dog Hi4 maintains its iconic design, with a stylish yet rugged look, featuring a unique polygonal grille. Along with the round headlights, this SUV exudes an imposing presence on the road.
Performance and Powertrain
Notable upgrades include a new ‘Hi4’ tail badge and improved tire specification (245/55), emphasizing its versatility as a light SUV. With 200mm of ground clearance and impressive driving dynamics, the Hi4 supports seven driving modes, including Eco, Sport, Mud, and Sand, to ensure optimal performance in various terrains.
Equipped with advanced driver assistance features, the SUV is equipped with a full suite of sensors, including ultrasonic radar, millimeter wave radar, and cameras, for a total of 22 sensors. It provides a safer and more precise driving experience.
Interior Features
Five exterior colors are available to consumers with dimensions of 4705/1908/1780 mm and a wheelbase of 2810 mm. In the cockpit, the 14.6-inch central control screen, 12.3-inch full LCD instrument panel and HUD (head-up display) provide intuitive access to various functions.
Technology and Connectivity
Additional features include wireless mobile charging, voice recognition, OTA updates, Wi-Fi hotspot connectivity, and mobile app remote control. The standard layout accommodates five passengers and offers a luggage capacity of 483 liters. By folding the rear row, you can increase this capacity to 1362 liters.
Under the hood, power comes from a Great Wall Motors Hi4 plug-in hybrid system that includes a 1.5T motor and two motors mated to a 2-stage DHT. The engine has a maximum power of 123 kW, a maximum torque of 243 Nm, and a combined torque of 750 Nm from the front and rear engines.
Haval Second-Gen Big Dog Hi4 takes just 6.3 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h. It has a 19.09 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, a pure electric range of 102 kilometers (NEDC), and supports DC fast charging.
Harvard’s new Big Dog Hi4 redefines luxury SUVs in China with advanced tech, dynamic performance, and lavish features. It will be interesting to see if Harvard will offer this car in Pakistan.
