Instagram Reels to Triple in Length Soon

Instagram Reels Triple Length

Instagram Reels Triple Length: Instagram Reels, the short-form video content feature that competes with TikTok, is getting a major update soon. According to a leak by mobile developer and tipster Alessandro Paluzzi, Instagram is working on the ability to create Reels up to 10 minutes long. This is a significant increase from the current limit of 3 minutes, which was introduced in July 2021.

Paluzzi shared screenshots of this upcoming update on Twitter, showing a side-by-side comparison of the current and new duration options for Reels. He also clarified that this feature is still under development and not available to the public yet.

Instagram Reels Triple Length, Extending the length of Reels is likely a response to TikTok’s rollout of longer videos in July 2021. TikTok now allows some users to upload videos up to 3 minutes long, while others can even create 20-minute videos if they have a paid subscription. TikTok claims that longer videos give more room for creativity and storytelling for its users and creators.

Instagram has been adding new features and tools to Reels to boost its popularity and engagement among users and creators. For instance, it recently added a Remix option that lets users create their own version of another user’s Reel, similar to TikTok’s Duet feature. It also added a new tab for Reels on its home screen and a dedicated section for Reels Explore, making it easier to discover and watch Reels from other users.

Increasing the length of Instagram Reels to 10 minutes brings them closer to a lot of YouTube videos and TikTok videos, which have been dominating the online video space. YouTube, on the other hand, has been focusing on adding more to its short-form content. The video-sharing giant also started offering more monetization to YouTube Shorts earlier this year.
The official launch date of the 10-minute Reels feature on Instagram is unclear, but users expect it to become available to all soon. This could be a game-changer for Instagram, as it will attract more users and creators who want to share longer and more engaging video content on the platform.
