Telenor Ufone Service Enhancements

Telenor Ufone Service Enhancements: In a strategic move set to redefine Pakistan’s telecommunications landscape, PTCL Group CEO Hatem Bamatraf has outlined an ambitious two-year integration plan following the acquisition of Telenor Pakistan. Speaking at GITEX in Dubai, Bamatraf emphasized the complexities and expected benefits of this significant merger, which aims to usher in a new era of connectivity and digital innovation in Pakistan.

Network Merger

The integration of Telenor Pakistan and Ufone is not just a merger of two networks but a comprehensive unification of IT systems, infrastructure, sales networks, marketing strategies, and company policies. Given the scale and depth of both organizations, this extensive integration process is projected to span at least two years. However, customers will not have to wait that long to experience improvements. Quality enhancements for customers of both networks will be available immediately after regulatory approvals, which the company hopes to attain by the end of 2024 or early 2025.

Comprehensive Integration

Bamatraf highlighted that the integration extends beyond mere technical adjustments. “Bringing together Telenor and Ufone is not just about merging networks; it’s about unifying our IT systems, infrastructure, sales networks, marketing strategies, and company policies,” he explained. Considering the scale and depth of both organizations, they project this comprehensive integration to span at least two years.

Despite the lengthy timeline, customers will not have to wait to experience improvements. “We’ve been proactively preparing to enhance service quality and network experience. As soon as we receive regulatory approvals, customers will begin noticing positive changes in service quality and throughput,” Bamatraf promised.

The merger will create a unique telecom infrastructure network in the country, combining resources to significantly amplify service offerings. Integrating Telenor’s extensive cell sites with Ufone’s network will enable superior services across Pakistan, particularly benefiting remote and underserved areas. Bamatraf also stressed the benefits of integrating Telenor’s human resources, which he described as having solid processes and advanced business policies.

This merger marks a significant step towards enhancing connectivity and digital services in Pakistan, promising Telenor and Ufone customers a brighter future.
