Pakistan Reach Semi Final In Five-Nation Basketball Tournament

Pakistan reach semi-final. Pakistan’s victory over Bangladesh was a result of their dominant performance throughout the game. They took an early lead in the first quarter and never looked back.

Pakistan defeated Bangladesh 84-66 in their final group match of the five-nation basketball tournament in Maldives on Sunday, securing their spot in the semi-finals. This was Pakistan’s third consecutive win in the event, after losing their first game to Nepal by a narrow margin.

Pakistan dominated Bangladesh from the very first moment of the game scoring 20 points against 15 in the first quarter. Bangladesh tried to fight back in the second quarter, but Pakistan pulled away in the third and fourth quarters with their superior shooting and defense.

Pakistan’s Zain ul Hasan Khan and Muhammad Umair Jan were the top scorers for their team, Zain ul Hasan Khan and Muhammad Umair Jan scored 19 and 19 points respectively. Abdul Wahab scored 16 points and Ziaur Rahman scored 11 points.Pakistan’s Shehbaz Ali, Umeer, and Zia each made three 3-pointers to add to their team’s tally.

Pakistan had missed out on several tournaments due to internal disputes within the Pakistan Basketball Federation (PBF), which resulted in two rival factions claiming to represent the country.

The International Basketball Federation (FIBA) had suspended Pakistan’s membership in 2017 due to this issue.

It is important to note that Pakistan is participating in an international event after a gap of seven years.

The win against Bangladesh was the men in green’s third successive victory as they had earlier defeated the teams of Bhutan and Maldives.

Pakistan will now face Nepal in the semi-final on June 20, hoping to avenge their loss in the group stage. The other semi-final will be between Maldives and Bhutan. The final will be held on June 22. Pakistan will aim to win their first ever gold medal at this level and make their country proud.
