The School Education Department of Punjab has announced updated school timings for the holy month of Ramadan, ensuring that the schedule accommodates the fasting hours of students and staff.
According to a statement issued by the Provincial Department of School Education on Monday, single-grade schools will begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 1:00 a.m. Monday through Thursday and Saturday. On Friday, school closes 30 minutes before 12:30 p.m.
Meanwhile, early hours at double-shift schools will be from 8.30 am to 12.30 pm Monday to Saturday. From Monday to Thursday and Saturday afternoon, classes start at 1:00 and end at 4:30 pm.
But on Friday, classes in these schools start at 2.00 pm and end at 5.00 pm. Additionally, the department has decided to discontinue morning assemblies during Ramadan to manage the time better and focus on educational activities
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Education Department has also announced a revised class schedule during Ramadan. Under the new directive, primary schools in the province will start at 7:30 a.m. and end at 11:10 a.m., except on Fridays when they close at 10:05 a.m. Middle school, middle school, and high school classes during Ramadan will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. and end at 10:25 a.m. Friday.
