Vince Zampella, the influential co-creator of the Call of Duty franchise and head of the Battlefield series, has died in a fatal car crash in Southern California. Zampella, aged 55, was killed when a Ferrari he was travelling in left the road, struck a concrete barrier, and burst into flames on a scenic mountain highway north of Los Angeles. A passenger was ejected from the vehicle and later succumbed to injuries at a hospital, while Zampella died at the scene.
