New Xbox Series S with 1TB Storage

Microsoft has announced a new version of its entry-level console, the New Xbox Series S With 1tb Storage. The Xbox Series S is widely appreciated for its affordability and impressive performance, but its limited storage space of 512GB has been a major drawback for many gamers. Microsoft has listened to the feedback and has launched a new model of the console with 1TB of built-in storage and a carbon black color scheme.

The new Xbox Series S 1TB Carbon Black edition was announced by Xbox chief Phil Spencer at the Xbox Games Showcase in Los Angeles on June 11th. The console will cost $349 and will be available on September 1st. Preorders are open now at Microsoft’s website.

The Xbox Series S is Microsoft’s entry-level console for the current generation, offering many of the same features as the more powerful Xbox Series X at a lower price point. The console has a speedy SSD for fast loading times, a Quick Resume feature for switching between multiple games instantly and enough power to run games at up to 120 frames per second.

The console also supports backward compatibility with thousands of games from previous generations and gives access to hundreds of games via Game Pass, Microsoft’s subscription service that offers a Netflix-like library of titles for a monthly fee.

The original Xbox Series S launched in November 2020 with a white design and 512GB of storage for $299. However, many gamers found that the storage space was not enough to accommodate the growing size of games, especially those optimized for the current generation.

The only option to expand the storage was to buy an external expansion card from Seagate or Western Digital, which start at $80 for 512GB and go up to $280 for 2TB.

The new Xbox Series S 1TB Carbon Black edition solves this problem by offering twice the storage space for just $50 more than the launch model. It also gives the console a more subdued look that matches the Xbox Series X and other gaming accessories.

“We’ve heard the feedback that the 500GB can be a limit for some people, and yes, we’ve heard the feedback on the expansion cards and we’re working on that,” Spencer said at a roundtable after the showcase. “But we also wanted to make a console that had 1TB inside. We continue to take feedback on our console, we continue to build out the roadmap of where [the] console is today, where it’ll be tomorrow and frankly, where it’ll be in the future for us.

The new Xbox Series S 1TB Carbon Black edition is a great option for anyone who wants to enjoy the latest games without breaking the bank or worrying about running out of storage space. It’s also ideal for those who prefer digital games over physical discs, as the console does not have a disc drive.
