Wafflix owner found dead

The owner of the popular dessert chain Wafflix has been found dead in Karachi, days after his family alleged he was abducted from outside his home. Police say the case is now being investigated as a suspected kidnapping-and-murder.

The victim, 25-year-old Mir Raza Ali, ran a Wafflix outlet near Bahadurabad Chowrangi and lived in the PECHS Block 2 area of the city. His death has shaken his community and reignited public concern over street crime and personal safety in Karachi.

What Happened?

Raza’s body was recovered from bushes near the Shadi Qila wedding hall in Gulistan-e-Jauhar Block 1 on Wednesday. It was shifted to Jinnah Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

According to investigators, the body appeared to have been there for one to two days before it was found. Burn marks on parts of the body reportedly made visual identification difficult, and Raza’s father is said to have identified him through his clothing. Police noted a mark on the victim’s back, but officials say cause of death awaits completion of post‑mortem report.

  • Search for him: When his mother couldn’t reach him,. his phone was switched off, the family searched on their own and contacted the Madadgar 15 helpline before formally involving police.
  • Case status: Ferozabad police said preliminary findings indicated Raza may have been tortured before being shot, though this is still subject to confirmation. A first information report has been registered against unidentified suspects.
